analysis of advert

although our image contains all the conventions of an advert, the image doesn't work effectively as it is the wrong shape and style to fit in a magazine and look as if it belongs there. It would preferably need to be in an A4 format and have a more striking colour. We created this by getting random images and trying to create a look that fitted with titles and random band names, hence the image not being as effective as we could create with our own choices.

Magazine advert

Conventions of a magazine artical.

Promotional articles on artists and their new ablbums/singles often include

- photoshoots and album artwork
-Name of song / album
-release date
- Previous history of artist
-Ratings
- information of inspiration for the artist.

Research into conventions of Digipacks.

Digipaks are a form of media which not only shows the music video but it also gives an insight into the making and production of the piece. Digipak is a patented style of CD or DVD packaging and is a registered trademark of AGI Media. Typically Digipaks consist of a gate fold (book style), paper board outer binding with one or more plastic trays capable of holding a CD or DVD. Digi-style packaging is often used for CD singles or special editions of CD albums and the tall DVD Digipak (DVDigipak) and is used as a premium packing of DVDS and DVD sets. Digipak style cases grew in popularity among record lables and recording artists in the early 2000's.

Typical features and contense of a Digipak can vary. Most will contain the Albm in eiher CD or DVD form and can have the artists videos, or films showing the production of the album and music videos. They can also contain posters and exclusive artwork or merchandise.

Feed Back for your music video.

Genre Characteristics
- The mise-en-scene matched the happy sort of pop genre, with all the flowers and bright colours.
Visual/Lyrics
- The part where Jack is holding the candle and talking about the "Eternal Flame", and when he is talking about how he wants his love back and you see the couple in the background.
Visual/Music
- The song isn't a particularly happy song, so the scene with the candle also shows the dark room, to show sadness like the slow pace of the song.
Need to Sell the Artist
- The artist is constantly within shot showing that he is the central character and the main focus of the song.
Voyeurism
- As we are watching the central character this counts as voyeurism. Also Jack is watching the couple so this also counts as voyeurism.

One minute music video - eternal flame :)
